Over 1546 people to date have participated in the programme, 196 now have jobs and 176 are now volunteering and 269 people have moved into job searches or further learning

Introduction To Event Stewarding

Enjoy live Music, the Arts and Film? Want to get into Arts Event Stewarding?

Momentum Arts are recruiting volunteers to take part in an Introduction to Stewarding Course which will enable you to take part in volunteering at local arts/film/community events, carnivals and festivals in Cambridgeshire. There will also be opportunities to volunteer with Momentum Arts, Strawberry Fair, Festival of Ideas and other local events.

If you are currently unemployed the training is FREE!

Not only will you get a chance to gain a qualification there will also be opportunities to gain valuable experience working with qualified stewards at The Junction on a number of live music events coming up in May!

The course will be held at The Junction, in Cambridge on the following dates and we would ask that you ensure you are available to attend all dates:

Dates: 9th & 10th of May and 18th & 19th of May 2011
Times: 10.00 to 3.00pm
Venue: The Junction, Cambridge, Clifton Way, Cambridge, CB1 7GX

The course will also:

  • Give you a basic introduction to event stewarding, public health and safety, crowd control, customer care and responsibilities of an Event Steward.
  • Give you a NOCN Level 1 qualification (on completion of 20 hours).
  • Introduce you to local arts event volunteering opportunities.
  • Give you a basic understanding of the arts/events sector and equip you with basic skills to pursue employment.


About the Course / Commitment

  • The course will take place over 4 days (20 hours). 
  • You will also need to commit to volunteering at 1-2 events in summer 2011.
  • The course will be delivered by two experienced Momentum Arts Facilitators.
  • The course will be fun and accessible and all learners will be supported


Who is the Course For?

  • The course is FREE to those who are unemployed or out of work or there is a reduced non refundable cost of £50 for those who are in employment (payable by cheque to Momentum Arts in advance of the course) 
  • You must be 18+ 
  • Anyone who is capable of event stewarding which may involve long periods of being on your feet, facing the public and could involve working outdoors!
