Nigel

Zinc Arts Case Study 2

Nigel is 57 and is a mental health service user from Harlow. Nigel joined the Team East for Skills project through a series of visual arts workshops held at Spurriers House Social Centre in Harlow. He began experimenting with different arts media and discovered a particular skill and passion for photography. His pictures are now the inspiration behind a public art exhibition that the group are working towards. Nigel has said he is “doing things that I thought were impossible” and thriving in his new creative capacity. After the exhibition at the end of September, with support and discussions with his mentor, we hope Nigel will find some voluntary work to further his photographic skills.
