Zinc Arts Case Study 1

Sarah is 25 and has sensory and mobility impairments. She is currently unemployed and not in education but with big aspirations to work in the arts. Although Sarah has some drama experience she needed opportunities to gain further experience, skills and direction in to her desired field. Since joining the Team East for Skills project Sarah has been shadowing professional artists, assisting with the set up and clear down of workshops and engaged in a mentoring scheme with a project worker from Zinc Arts. Sarah now has visual arts, movement, music and drama experience to add to her CV and is looking to interview for and start college this September on a foundation course. Providing all goes well at college next year, Sarah will be applying to university and well on her way to becoming the arts professional she aspires to be.
