Progession Coaching

Each person who participates in the programme at Bronze level will be offered the support of a Progression Coach for up to 8 hours.

What is a Progression Coach?

A Progression Coach works for a limited period of time with an individual to assist them in moving forward with their action plan and goal setting. This is a short-term mentoring relationship.  The Progression Coach works with the mentee for the short to medium term rather than the long term, as in conventional mentoring situations.

Mentoring is a productive personal development initiative that usually benefits both parties involved and is driven by trust and mutual respect. The mentoring partnership is usually based on two people sharing common interests or life experiences.

A relationship exists when a mentor can relate to the participant life experiences and help guide the participant on the right path. It is a relationship that provides guidance and shows the opportunities that are available to the participant. This is particularly useful when a participant needs to make career choices and has been out of employment for a long time or has not been in employment at all. Mentoring provides the encouragement to allow the participant's confidence to establish, so that they are able to steer themselves and make informed choices about where they want to be in life, rather than just 'ending-up'  in a situation.
